Hi Ashley- I am replying to your posting: "Two females needed to stay in Duck for the summer." I know it's a little after the June 1 deadline, but I am ready and willing to move down, and can be there as early as next week. I would be more than happy to share bills. My email address is JenenQ83@aol.com

In response to the large family looking for a special restaurant I would highly recommend Elizabeth's in Duck. I had one of the most spectacular meals there...service was outstanding and the interior is absolutely charming. They are large enough to accomodate your group, however, you might have to dine on the early side because of the babies. This is truly a SPECIAL place!

You can bring pets to the Outerbanks Motel, and they only charge $5 to bring a pet. I have stayed there 3 times with my Golden Retreiver. and it has always been a pleasant experience. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and it's right on the beach! It's just a short jaunt to The Tides Restaurant as well which I love as well.

I have been to the Ocracoke Island 5 times, but one of the worst experiences I have ever had was staying at a motel at Blackbeard's lodge. The owner was quite rude when we complained about the gang of bikers partying and making noise until 3 AM. I will be sure to spread the news to all of my neighbors/friends and family in Raleigh to avoid this lodge. Not only was place noisy but the room was badly in need of new vinyl flooring in the bathroom, a paint job and new carpet.

I used to take my ATVs to the OBX seevral years ago.....the Northern Beaches, where we also rent our vacation home... One year, the COunty decided to charge for permits....which was OK by me.....then, the next year ATVs were banned unless you own a home there. I wish they would change the rule to allow people renting homes up there to have their ATVs as well.... DZ

I would like info on rental houses, motels, cottages that are pet friendly. Thank you

I just wanted to say me and my family have been going to hatteras island now for 5 years and this upcoming summer would be our sixth. Since hurricane isabel our lives have changed, we have stayed at the Durant Station and it was like our second home, all of us were heartbroken when we heard the news that it was destroyed by the storm. I've been looking real hard for somewhere else to stay and really nothing is going to be like the Durant Station, it was oceanfront with a pool and everything. My point is i hope someone knows if they are rebuliding this, if anyone knows anything or has any information on this could u email my address please! Thank You

I am going to the Outer Banks for the third time this year. We stay for two weeks every other year and the experience is in a word, remarkable. This year we hope to have 35 family members there and look forward to celebrating my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. My in-laws have been going to the Outer Banks for 35 years and I have heard too many stories to tell here. Anyone in search of a relaxing, family oriented, beautiful vacation spot should go there and see why James Taylor singing "Carolina in My Mind" in February in Pittsburgh can make a 36 year old Pittsburgher sit back, smile, and dream of salt air, the warm sun, and a cold beer. You really have to see, hear, and smell it to believe it.

The times of our lives best friends are at the fishing unlimited pier--catching 3 puppy drum at once or sitting at happy hour just talking--helping a friend net a big one or last fall a tire or bid board or siding off of someone cottage--there is no place like the fishing unlimited family outer banks--this 30 years of friends and family thanks to each and every one of you

I am looking for a place to take my 13 year old son on an ATV trial. The ideal place would include a guided tour through a wooded area in SC,NC,GA,TN, or FL. He and I will need to rent all the required equipment (2-ATV's, safety equip, etc.) Most places advertising on the web require the drivers to be at least 16 years old with a drivers license. There must be a place that will let a 13 year old boy ride an ATV.
