I am staying at Kingston Plantation for the first time. I have
reservations at North Hampton tower in Kingston, has anyone ever stayed
there ? I am on the 3rd floor in what they consider the "wave" of the
hotel structure. From pictures on the web I am wondering if this is
going to be a good idea or not. I am on the farthest end of this "wave"
on the plantation property. Let me know if I should be looking
elsewhere PLEASE !!!

Hello--for family of six--a great place to stay is SeaMist. They have a
family value package that includes daily passes to the water park
across from the pavilion, breakfast one morning, daily passes to the
pavilion, unlimited use of putt-putt on their premises and a huge
playground and kiddie water park on the premises and lots more! We went
last year w/ our kids and it was great! Where else can you stay and get
into the pavilion to ride kid rides free every night!! Good luck!

To anyone inquiring about Beach Colony Resort. I recently stayed there
May 12-May 16, 2004. I was pleased with everything. No Motorcyles
aloud, but still a very nice place to stay. Real clean. Vickie Phillips

I am looking for a place during Spring Myrtle Beach Bike Week every
year. I have searched all over and everything is booked or there is no
room. I need accomodations for 8 adults, my Pickup Truck & 24' enclosed
trailer used to store the motocycles at night. We are all very clean
responsible adults. looking for a time share or a place that we can get
every year for May week #19. Must have 4 bedrooms & at least 3 baths.
Person or persons letting us stay will not be dissapointed in our
visit. I guarantee it! We take care of everything we own and treat all
others property the same if not better. If you want to feel safe with
no worries about your property please get in touch with me! Yes some of
us smoke but we have enough respect to do it outside and dispose of our
cigs properly. We are all best friends in our 40s & 50s. Thank you all
for your time.

Hi Hazel Staley, The best place to stay for a handicapped person I
found was at The Oceans Condo in Cherry Grove. I take my friend there
that's also in a wheelchair (electric) and it was very accessible. We
have to use a hoyer to lift him into bed and the beds in the room were
perfect for this. There are beach wheelchairs about 2 blocks down from
the condo on Sea Mountain HWY. Also a grocery store and breakfast
places right near by. Also Cherry Grove Pier is close to go out on &
have a great breakfast menu. All Street cornres have ramps. This part
of Myrtle Beach is very quiet and a lot less traffic than going south
but still close to all the attractions.

were looking for a place to stay for June 5th through June 12th in the
Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina. Preferably we would like to stay
in Garden City, but if not, then its no big deal. The condo would need
to be @ least 2 bedrooms or larger, considering that we will have about
5 people, please email me with any offers under 900 dollars for the
week.. your truly, poor college kids

We stay at Lands End Resort it is a nice quiet resort in North Myrtle
Beach. Some of the condos allow pets certin times of the year. We take
our beach vacation in September and they allow us to bring our dog with
us. It is a very comfortable 2 bedroom condo. We enjoy our stay there.

I have a common problem that seems to be posted numerous times. A
group of friends and all are looking for a place to stay somewhere in
the carolinas. The problem, of course, is finding a place the will rent
a beach house to a bunch of 19-year-olds. If anyone knows of such a
place/realty or anything please let me know asap. I would really
appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Hello .. My husband and I just got back from our 1st (but hopefully not
our last) visit to the Myrtle Beach area .. We have one problem though

travel with a small dog (15lbs)and would love to find a timeshare there
.. If not could you recommmend a nice hotel that takes dogs but also
has COMFORTABLE beds? It seems whenever we stay at a pet friendly hotel
the beds are like ROCKS!! Don't hotels reallize that most older people
have small pets and money?? Thanks for your help. Carol Pilot

Please do not take South Beach Resort offer of the Sampler Package. It
is all Fake......Tom Lorenz & Elizabeth Johnson at South Beach Resort
should be ashamed of thereselves. Telling Client's that if you do not
want to purchase a Time Share now. How about try are Sampler Package
for only 1095.00 if after trying you still don't want to buy then South
Beach will refund all of your money except 175.00 so you should get
back around 900.00. But the catch is that sounds like a deal so you
purchase & then go again take a secong look. Still don't want to buy
you get ready to leave thinking what you were told was true you would
get your 900.00 back well not so true. I asked when will we get are
900.00 in the mail or today. E. Johnson stated you don't get your money
back it is not refundable since your not buying a time share. But you
still get a 7 night 6 day vacation anywhere at anytime here is your
cerft. Just call for resverations. Not true you can only go to Myrtle
Beach with the cerft...in Nov or Dec or Jan. Who wants to go then. or
you could take the 3night 2 day cruise which will still cost another
195.00 a person in port charges. The vacation is not really free it
still cost 198.00 to process. What a joke..So everyone beware it sounds
good until you ask were is your refund amount for the Sampler
package..Well I am sorry your 900.00 only goes towards the timeshare if
you purchase one. After finding this out South Beach Resort only has
50.00 in the free Vacation Voucher they pruchased from Mini Vacations.
So like they have allot to loose..Except they are gaining by extending
the truth. You learn allot when you deal with dirth people. Buyer
Beware

I've just gotten home from a week-end stay at captain's quarters. I've
stayed there several times, and i must say, this was the worst visit
i've ever had there. The chlorine in the indoor pool area was horrible.
My child coughed the entire time, and could not stay. The water burned
my eyes so bad i had to get out of the pool. We couldn't even use these
facilities. On saturday, our kitchen sink stopped up. I called for a
plumber, as of the time we left, he still hadn't come. I must say this
was very disappointing for a group of six. Sorry, it's usually a great
place to go, but this time it was a let down.

I'm looking for a place to stay in N.Myrtle beach for the week of
June 12-20. I'm looking for it to house 8-10 people. It would be nice
to have a pool, or jacuzzi, or even a pool table of some sort. I don't
mind if it is ocean front or not. We were looking at a price rage of
2000-3000 per week. Thanks

I need to know some places that welcome 18 yr olds. I am having trouble
finding any hotels/condos that allow you to only be 18, you have to be
at least 25 everywhere I have tried. I am looking for a
hotel/condo/beach house that sleeps at least 5-6 and is 650$ a week or
cheaper. I am looking to stay the week of 04/06/04-04/13/04. If you
know of anywhere please get back to me ASAP! Thanks alot!

We are thinking about coming up to the beach on the 9th of October and
we need a house that will hold up to 14 people or more. We prefer
something on the oceanfront and has a lot of varities of things for
kids and the adults to enjoy both. Just if you have an e-mail that i
can get some reservations or some houses to look at just e-mail me
back. Thank you so much. I'll be waiting to hear from you.

Need some brochure on these hotels. Or any information that may help me
choose which hotel is the cleanest. I want between the family kingdom
and no further than the pavilion. Somewhere within this area. Here is a
list of the ones i wrote down this past vacation. Anyones input would
be helpful! Landmark, Sea Mist, Beach Side, Coral Beach, Ocean Plaza,
Captian Quarters, Holiday Inn South, Tropical Winds, Best Inn & Suites,
Comfort Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn in front of the Family Kingdom, Sandy
Beach Resort, Sea Shore, Lands Inn, Bar Harbour, Bermuda Sands, I am
looking for very clean rooms. That is the most disapointing thing is to
arrive at vacation time and no that you have all that money in a room
for 5 or 6 days and it be nasty. Thanks for anyones help!!!!!!!! Pam

My name is Greg and I'm giving my perspective on Michelle's
submittal which is reprinted below in it's entirety:
Michelle wrote:
Hi, my family travels to Myrtle beach every year, The very place to
stay is The Palms Resort, 2500 north Ocean Blvd, and the phone number
is 1-800-528-0451. We always stay in the 3 bedroom condo or the
penthouse, it is a very family friendly place and quiet. Always clean
and the staff their are so friendly. We also love to stay at the
captain's quarters, we stay here we are just going for a few days or in
the cooler months, rooms are nice and they have a indoor bowling alley
with a nice game room for the kids, also lots of indoor pools for the
kids to enjoy when it is to cold to swim in the ocean. 901 South Ocean
Blvd, , 1-800-843-3561. now I want to tell you what to BEWARE of:
BlueGreen Vacations... their people stand outside of restaurants and
give you this line about going on a 90 minute tour of shorecrest 2 in
north myrtle beach and you will get a free vacation!!! DON"T GO!!!! my
husband and my mom went to the tour, purchased a condo, and we have
only stepped foot in the condo once and that was on the tour! we can't
get in shore crest as owners but we can get in if we pay what someone
who does not own would . we have to exchange our week with "RCI and go
to parts unknown!! we were told that we would have to pay a $300.00
eminence fee every year ! last year our eminence fee was
$712.00!!!!!!!! I could on and on. just don't get suckered into this,
there is no way out and no one wants to buy it !!
-- michelle - Monday, October 7, 2002 at 16:41:09
The 1st response from Greg:
Michelle, you bimbo....we went on the Bluegreen tour and bought at
Shorecrest as well and it has worked out perfectly for us and costs us
half of what you are paying for The Palms Resort 1-800-528-0451
$1350/week. The Shorecrest staff treats us better than friendly, they
treat us like we are on their board of directors. But you have to know
someone or have to know what you are doing or you will not get an
optimal deal from the Shorecrest sales people. We got a fixed
pre-hurricane week 22 June 1st, 2 bdrm oceanfront condo unit on the 3rd
floor overlooking the pool, ocean, and entertainment deck for $9500
which has had a maintenance fee of $400/year for the last 3 years. We
can sell the place in a few years to reclaim the principal and make a
profit or deed it to our kids and the place is so popular you are not
likely to get an oceanfront unit regardless of how far in advance you
book because people like me are holding them. The room is $295/day to
rent if you don't own which is $1750/week slightly off season. It's a 5
star resort with all the creature comforts including art project based
child care managed onsite with multiple Bluegreen employees to keep the
kids busy for an hour or two during the day in case the parents would
like a "break" to allow time for sex. We originally went on the
Bluegreen tour to see the place, and signed a contract which by law
gave us 3 days to cancel. We checked with a local realtor during the 3
day period and found that better deals available at half the cost were
available at the time on the secondary market through regular realtors
instead of from the Bluegreen people. After all, if you ever need to
sell the unit, it's the secondary market you'll need to use to sell it
so shouldn't that be the place you go to assess unit value. So we sent
our contract cancellation certified mail to Bluegreen and they returned
our money in full and we bought the unit for $9500 from the realtor. I
was getting tired of wasting my time looking for a nice place available
at the last minute for a decent price. Now I have a place I never have
to book because it is just there that the family looks forward to which
doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Fixed week units for Shorecrest are no
longer available from Bluegreen, they have to be purchased though
realtors. Fixed week units were originally offered as incentive for
people to purchase before the building was built, essentially, they are
the people who put down the deposit for construction. If overall
financing had fallen through, they would have lost everything. Now
Shorecrest offers a points based system whereby the non-fixed week
points folk all try to call in on the same day exactly 11 months in
advance to book the 1? or 2? oceanfront units per hundred callers
available and more typically wind up in the broom closet on the back
lot or at another resort like Michelle and her family describe. We
bought on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool, beach, and ocean and the
original owners on the 3rd floor know better than to switch to the
point system where there's no drifter/renter families. Every year,
Bluegreen offers us breakfast pastry and a free dinner and a party
attendance for the privilage of asking us to switch our fixed week unit
to the points system for free with an offer to waive any transfer fees.
We always say "not this year" and say thanks for the pastry, dinner,
and party attendance. We see the same people each year which is nice
because they are an upscale lot and kids have a habit of making friends
near where they stay, "location, location, location". If we didn't want
to go on our fixed week, we have the option of renting it back to
Bluegreen for just the 1 week for 70% of the $1750 or trade the week
through RCI. Our realtor was Pendleton Realty 843-238-9714 Pat and
Clint, M-F 8AM to 9PM, Sat 9AM - 5:30PM Eastern Time.

I am interested in some information for our vacation in June of 2004.
We need to accommodate from 8 to 12 people in ONE condo or house. We
want ocean FRONT, meaning we walk right out side our place onto the
beach. We would have either 4 adults and 4 kids or 6 adults and 6 kids.
My next question is, are we able to stay for less then 7 days anywhere
in the month of June?? I was looking at checking in either Sunday June
20th or Monday June 21st and checking out Saturday June 26th or Sunday
June 27th. This is the only time we are available since we are also
visiting relatives in NC. We would like our place to also have a
whirlpool hot tub and it would be a bonus to have a pool. If anyone has
any suggestions please e-mail me. Thanks much!

The advantages I found to staying at the St. Johns Inn on North
Ocean Boulevard were: ease of parking; no waiting for an elevator and
long walk to my room; nice spacious and quiet courtyard with a full
size swimming pool; easy access to ocean(less than 5 min. walk across
the street; reasonable rates; clean effiency rooms.

We vacationed at Myrtle Beach this summer and stayed at the Boardwalk
Beach Resort. The rooms are very overpriced, for the condition that they
are in.And also don't let the brochures and the website fool ya.In the
workout room the eqipment was rundown and not working. One of the rails
on the pool was broken, and the sauna was out of order. The rooms were
clean but you can tell they are old. P.S. BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS!

I just thought I would put a little info on here about a company
that is owned by a friend of mine...CondoLux in North Myrtle Beach. If
anyone is thinking about coming down in the next couple of months, they
are doing half price specials right now, and have some unbelievable
deals on the big oceanfront beach houses that they rent out for large
crowds. If you're coming down for the fall, please check out their
website and give them a call. I think you'll be very happy with the
savings and with the condos they represent. I saw some comments
previously for the Ashworth and several other really nice condos. They
don't handle any but the best.

started. We have family coming from different cities and states. They
want the information soon. so they can start making plans. I would like
to have information on hotels/motels resort with a banquet room and
hospitality room. Also events and places where we can go. Hotel(s)
rates. Cand we get a special rate on rooms? We will have around 50
families coming (about 100 to 150 family members). Please if you would

My family just returned from a 4 day vac at the Caravelle Resort at
Myrtle Beach. It is not recommended to stay there. Maybe the other 7
buildings were better than the main one. Pros: Plenty of pools for kids
and adults. Laundry room. Nice outside grill for snaks and lunch. Good
inexpensive breakfast buffet at resort(kids eat free). Cons: Dirty
rooms. Carpets so dirty, you have to wash your feet before you get into
bed. No changed linens for the entire 4 days. Did not vaccum or clean
bathroom except for the day we were in the room during the cleaning.
Holes in carpets, The main building where we stayed needs renovations
badly. Cracks in the walls, showers, cabinet doors falling off. We went
through Lodging.com and did not get the room that we reserved. Take
your own pillows!! Would not recommend for the price paid.

I wouldn't advise staying at the Holiday Inn on the South Beach. We
stayed there the last week of July 2003 and our room was dingy, the
bathtub was unsteady and the fixtures loose, I had to fix the toilet
myself because it would not flush and there are no maintenance people
at night. They charge you a dollar a day for a safe, but it is ancient,
rusted and ours wouldn't lock. We had a jewelry box containing gold
jewely (including a class ring and a very old baby ring) taken from our
room. Management took a report, but I could tell they didn't care. They
admitted that they had just fired a few new employees for stealing and
that these employees had be taking care of our room that week, but
still insisted we must have "misplaced" the box ourselves.

We are a family from upstate NY who recently purchased a condo in
Myrtle Beach for our own pleasure, as well as to share with others. It
is located in Pelicans Landing on Shore Drive,a lovely area between
Myrtle Beach downtown and North Myrtle Beach. It is a 3BR,2 1/2BA unit
directly across the street from the beach. It is located on the 1st
level (elevator accessable if needed) and overlooks the pool and patio
area. We've taken special care to make our "place at the beach" feel
like home for ourselves and others too. Our unit sleeps 6-8. Just a few
amenities include: 2 screened balconies, 1 queen BR w/half bath, 1 BR
w/2twins,and a king size master w/full bath. LR has full size sofa
sleeper and a crib is also included. Cable TV in each BR, VCR in LR and
a Full size laundry. You'll be pleased with a well equiped kitchen
w/micro,utensils,pans, dishwasher, coffeemaker, full size DR and bkfst
bar. This is a central location close to restraunts, Barefoot
Landing, and outlet shopping. We've found that this area is quiet and
family oriented, not too "far from the maddening crowds" of downtown
but close to golf, minigolf and to theaters. Come stay with us. We are
welcoming non-smoking visitors to share our newly found "little piece
of heaven". Snowbirds welcome. Contact me at for more details.

Since I was a small child and my family took us to the beach, we have
always stayed at The Sea Park Motel. It is a very nice motel that
offers kitchenettes or refrigerator in the room to help travelers that
don't want to spend all their money eating out every meal. It is family
owned and operated and they are concerned with their clientele. The
rates are reasonable, they have a nice pool and are only about a block
from the beach. They are within walking distance of shopping and the
Pavillion. I would definitely recommend it as a nice family motel but
if you are looking for high-class, this wouldn't be for you. My family
is going Aug. 10-15th, 2003 and are presently looking for coupons for
local attractions and restaurants. If anyone knows the link of some
good coupons, please let me know.

My husband and I just came back from one glorious week at the Beach
Cove Resort in North Myrtle Beach. We absolutely loved it! The resort
is right on the beach, all the units are ocean FRONT. I don't know
where to begin. I give this place a 5 start rating! Bathroom has double
sinks, oh, we stayed in the smallest unit, the 'executive suite' and it
was plenty big. Bedroom has two queen beds, T.V. and a door to close so
that those still awake watching T.V. in the living room aren't
bothersome, a kitchenette, with a two burner stove, sink, small fridge
(it held a lot of drinks and plenty of lunch food, plenty big),
microwave, coffee maker (bring your own coffe and filters tho!) and is
fully stocked with dishware/glassware/utentils/cookware/cutlery just
bring food! plenty of empty shelves to store pantry items. A closet in
the living room. The balcony holds 4 chairs and provides a fantastic
view! We were in Tower B way up on the 16th floor. Over the balcony you
overlook two pools, a kiddie pool, a lazy river and three hot tubs.
Indoors is another pool and hot tub too! Restarant, cafe, gift shop,
arcade, bar, outdoor bar and grill which we utilized for a quick bite
to eat. The beach area had plentiful chairs/umbrellas for rent ($25 per
day - it's run by the city, not the resort - you go up to the lifeguard
to rent them) multi-level parking deck, a nice covered check-in area
(no luggage ever gets wet when you load or unload). This is great for
families too, each day there were several activities to be enjoyed, we
had fun watching kids participate in a cannonball contest, or a
lazy-river tag contest... lots of fun was had by kids of all ages.
Housekeeping was very good too... I enjoyed myself so much that I spent
two days and never put on a pair of shoes!!! Barefoot Landing is just a
short distance away - one stoplight! T-Bonez was a good restarant, and
so was the House of Blues, our favorite (albeit pricey) by far was Greg
Normans - the BEST place for a quiet dinner without any hustle-bustle
of the dreaded buffet restarant... very classy, very relaxed, refined
dining experience and the food Top-Notch. Tip - I'm a big salad person,
and even at Greg Norman's, the salads aren't any more expensive than at
any other place we went to... $7 how's that! Of course, the hubby went
for the Surf and Turf (Filet Mignon and lobster tail) for $34, but
soooo well worth it! Another nice thing - at Beach Cove, you can send
up to three postcards (which they provide for you at the front desk)
and they will send them and pay the postage for you! That was a very
nice convenience. Very few complaints... but mine were that one of the
elevators for Tower B had a problem, the door often times would not
close, and would just sit there and close and open and close and
open... essentially leaving us with only one elevator (and we are on
the 16th floor) - calling the front desk would resolve the problem but
it kept happening... the other complaint? Well, sometimes they would
run out of pool towels located in a big bin at the front desk, so you
would have to ask the front desk clerk to fetch some for you.

Just returned from Myrtle Beach 7/19/03. Stayed at the SEA MIST RESORT.
A truly awful experience! Rooms were dirty, parking on site is
atrocious, and to top it off our room along with several others was
broken into! Management was completely uncooperative, unhelpful, and
rude. Security guards told us this has been an on going problem. Also,
rooms are equipped with safes that don't work. We lost a sizable amount
of cash, keys, credit cards etc. Our vacation was ruined and we left
feeling completely cheated. The Sea Mist resort is not worth the $170
per day price! They boast many family ammenities, but don't believe the
hype. The place is run down and there are just too many people in the
area. A very unsafe feeling place, not somewhere you would want to take
your children.

We just got back from a week vacation at Pelican's Watch on Shore Drive
in Myrtle Beach. Our unit was on the third floor and we had a slight
ocean view as it was across the street from the beach. The condo was
very clean...there were even fresh flowers left for us. I highly
recommend staying there...it's very convenient, just a two minute walk
to the beach. I also like the "sand room" that you enter before
actually going into your condo. That is also where the washer and dryer
are so if you come in from the beach you can drop off your wet, dirty
clothes in the washer, and leave your sandy shoes or sandles right
there in the foyer. This unit is right across from the elevator. The
only drawback is parking. You have to get a space early in the evening
or have two cars that you can park one in back of the other. Overall,
it's a great place to stay.

The Windemere is a condominium in Myrtle Beach that is right on the
ocean. It includes an indoor pool, a fitness center with a sauna, and a
card room that overlooks the ocean. Each room has 3 bedrooms and easily
sleeps 6 plus 2 on the pullout couch. It has a full kitchen with a
dishwasher, oven, stove, refrigerator, pots and pans, and a dining room
that seats 6. There is a balcony that looks right onto the ocean in
each room as well. Each room has 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms are full
baths.

of all the places to stay in myrtle beach,sc. i'd like to tell of one
place not to stay. the sea dip condos(more like motel). i will say that
i did get to check in early which was nice since i had drove all night
while the kids slept, however, that was about the only bright spot of
our stay at the sea dip. as we went in the room we noticed a funny
smell which did seem to go away as you went into the room. then my wife
went to lay down on one of the beds and noticed a terrible smell on one
of the pillows. after getting a little rest, we went to check out the
pools. this was another cruel joke from the hotel description. yes,
they did have two pools, a kiddie pool, a hot tub, and a lazy river.
however, the lazy riverwas more like a lazy creek. the whole river might
have been 50 feet long and was only wide enough for 1 person. the pool
water was very cold considering that we went the last week of june.
also, the pool deck was painted with a slick paintwhich my son slipped
and fell twice on.okay, so that enough of that, lets talk about the
room and the room service. first the room, not very nice, and certainly
not what you would expect at a place called sea dip CONDOS. the place
was small to say the least, and was not what you would say the cleanest
joint in town. on our second day there, we got up, ate, and got ready
to go down to beach. it was about 10:00am and was after 12:00 when we
came back to the room to eat lunch. no maid service yet, so we ate and
my son was getting ready to take his nap. my wife and daughter went for
a walk on the beach and i stayed in the room to let my son sleep. it
was after 2:00 before the maid finally showed up. of course you could
call that a bright point, you didn't have to worry about being ran out
of your room early due to the maid. all in all, we have decided that we
will not be back at the sea dip.

hi, i just graduated from high school and i didn't get to go on my
senior trip. well i was thinking about me and some friends going to
myrtle beach and staying for a week for my birthday. i needed to find
somewhere to stay on or VERY close to the strip that doesn't cost that
much. this place needs to be able to accomidate about 8-10 people or
just a hotel room that can keep 4 people. remember that this place
needs to be cheap but nice because my friends are down in FLA right now
and they only paid $250 for the entire trip (sleep and travel)! Please
help me out and if you know of any place please .

I'm getting married in September and would love to go to Myrtle
Beach for our honeymoon.
-- Crystal williams - Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 16:41:26
To whom it may concern: I am 18 years old. So, as you may have guessed
by now, I have had much difficulty finding accommodations. I was
planning on coming down the last week of August for my birthday with my
fiance and two of our friends. But things have changed since then. My
fiance has been promoted, and with the new found funds we will be able
to be married sooner than we thought. The "big day" will be August
16th. We thought we would leave the beach trip as planned to serve as
our honeymoon. Of coarse we also do not want to hurt our friends
feelings who we originally planned the trip with so we are looking to
stay in the same hotel or preferably to have adjoining rooms or a
spacious condo. We will need at least 2 rooms. This vacation will be my
honeymoon, and I want something that will make my jaw drop when I open
the door. The scamp amount of hotels I've found who were accepting of
my age possessed accommodations which were quite less than ideal for
our needs. Our price range is around 300 per night. Your help in this
matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Elizabeth Robinson

SNOWBIRDS: Anyone looking for a 1-bedroom ocean front unit for the
months of Dec., Jan., Feb. or March? We have a 1- bedroom suite (end
unit) with washer and dryer in the room. The unit has nice sized
balcony, three beds, full kitchen, ceramic tiling in bath and kitchen
and spectacular views from the floor to ceiling windows in the living
room and bedroom. There is a large indoor heated pool and jacuzzi,
fitness room and sauna. Since we are not part of the resort rental
program, we offer very reasonable rates that are well below the rates
quoted by the Resort. You also avoid the 14% state and resort taxes.

OCEAN PARK RESORT - My wife and I spent a great and relaxing 9-day stay
in unit #1004 (10th floor) at the Ocean Park Resort. The unit was an
ocean front, one-bedroom deluxe suite which was a corner unit. Aside
from the typical ocean front balcony, it also had floor-to-ceiling
windows in the livingroom and the bedroom that provided spectacular
sunrises and views down the beach. The unit had a washer/dryer in the
unit and new looking ceramic tile in the kitchen & bathrrom. The resort
had an exercise room, large indoor pool & jacuzzi, land arge outdoor
pool and jacuzzi. The front desk, maids and maintenance personnel were
all very friendly and made our stay very pleasant. I have pictures to
share if anyone plans on or is interested in staying there. It was a
very pleasant and memorable vacation!

We stayed at the Hartford Inn in N. Myrtle Beach - Cherry Grove area
about 10 years ago. We had the first floor unit - oceanfront with 2
teenage boys. We had a great time. You had a choice of sitting on the
beach or on the concrete with lounge chairs. It was great. I'm also
considering buying something similiar to that unit. Please let me know
if Hartford Inn is still available and if there are any units within a
reasonable price range to purchase

Our first visit as a whole family(14 of us) to Myrtle Beach was in June
2000. We stayed at Wayward Winds--what a mistake, we rented the
apartment, when we got there they had to exchange the sleeper sofa for
another one cause the springs were coming out. The dishes they
furnished were dirty, the laundry facilities were awful. This was just a
miserable trip for my 4 because the baby stayed sick. In 2001, we went
to nagshead---wonderful time. Now this year 2003 we are coming back to
MB- we are staying at the Waters Edge Resort-- hopefully we will have a
much better experience----sheila

Do not stay at the Sea Mist. My family went there with another
family in August, 2002. The place could be very good, maybe once they
finish renovating all the rooms and build another parking garage, and
hire better people - but who knows when that will be. They did renovate
another building this year (they renovated one last year). There are
about 12 buildings in all, so it might be good in 10 years.
I could write forever about my disappointments there. Whoever does
their website/catalogues is a genius because they make it look
incredible. I'll try to sum up my thoughts quickly:
Editor's Note: Sorry Doug, But this section was just too long to
publish. Suffice it to say, sorry that you did not have a good time.
This was supposed to be short! I really can't stop talking about how
bad it is. I am not kidding, what I typed above is only a few of the
things about the place. I could go one for much, much more.
We actually didn't care for Myrtle Beach in general, felt the whole
city was rather dirty. Driving around there we did see a couple of
hotels that looked nice (we never went in so they could be bad as well,
but from the outside they looked great) - called The Breakers, and
Camelot on the Bay. I doubt we'll step foot in Myrtle Beach again
(unless we are just golfing) but we'd probably stay at one of those
places.
The Sea Mist could be awesome - once they remodel the entire place
(even the remodeled building didn't look awesome, just looked nice),
hire nice people, get someone to run it who knows what they are doing,
etc...

We spent 5 glorious nights at the SeaMist Oceanfront Resort. This
vacation was PERFECT for children ages 7,8,and 11. The room was clean
an newly remodeled, the Fun in the Sun Value pkg. is WELL worth the
price of the room. The staff was EXCELLENT and I know they really had
to haul to get the place in shape for arrival on April 13th. SC had
lousy weather prior to that date also, and the Ammons family spared no
expense to bring that resort up to speed. I will bring my family back
there every year from now on. The fun in the Sun pkg. included daily
passes to family Kingdom ($20 per person w/o value pkg). We spent
$2,000 on entertainment in the past, but this resort brought that down
to aprx. $200 because of all the amenities.

We are going to be driving through S.C. in June/July and we would like
to stay near Myrtle Beach for a night. We aren't looking for a low
priced regular hotel. We are only staying for a night so we want to
make it special and stay somewhere nice. We have stayed at places
before that are around 350.00 a night. That is expensive but worth it
to us to have a memorable time. We are looking for a place that has for
example your own personal hot tubs and things like that. If there is
nothing available like this then if you could please just find some
info. for us about staying somewhere really nice. Thanks-

I am a senior in high school and am looking for a place for a group of
my friends and I to stay in Myrtle Beach. We are all only 18 and it
seems that all of the hotels in Myrtle Beach require you to be 19 or
older in order to stay there. I am desperately searching for a nice
hotel on the beach that will actually allow ten to twenty of us to stay
there!!! Thank you

To whom it may concern (hopefully the management at the Beach Colony
Resort 5308 Ocean Blvd) My husband and I spent from Jan 24 2003-Jan 28
2003 celebrating our silver 25th wedding anniversary at the Beach
Colony. I personally love SC especially Myrtle Beach. The morning
before we left at approximately 4:35am I had the unique pleasure of
watching the moon (not the sun) come out of the water, the north star
was beside the moon, and it looked like a tiny ship. The star and moon
both had an amber glow, God's beauty is unspeakable looking out over
the waters. My husband said "No wonder they call this the "blue
planet". I did not know they did call our space the blue planet.
Everyone at the Beach Colony was wonderful from the maid service to the
front desk. My husband and I enjoyed our stay so much we booked 7 days
in November (we both do not like crowds). We are planning on becoming
snowbirds to start out with the month of January 2004,then 3months,and
officially retiring at Myrtle Beach. There is always something to do or
go we both love seafood and Captain George's is the place. I had to
take my husband two nights. My niece Mandi Hawkinberry moved to Myrtle
Beach approximately 3 years ago. She just recently moved to the
apartment complex Carolina Forest, what a place. Mandi's apartment is
beautiful and she pays less than she would if she rented in our
hometown of Fairmont. I would like to say a special thank you to Tammy,
and I believe her name was Debbie at the front desk, all the snowbird
tenants that I met, and Dave in maintenance who retired from DC Geico
Ins, what a pleasant wonderful person he is. Well see you in November,
once again thanks for making our 25th a blessed time to
remember...sgaybark (better known as Mrs Richard Barker or my friends
call me Shirley......)

I want to go to Myrtle Beach with teenagers but also a younger
child.I'd like to be somewhere where there are things to do but I also
want to stay at a nice condo. Is North Myrtle Beach fun or is there a
difference. Like is it packed with just old people or something. Has
anyone heard of the Baywatch condos in north Myrtle Beach. They look
nice over the internet.

My family and I have been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for years--my
folks participate in the annual Harley Davidson Bike Week, we've been
going to MB since I was young, and now I'm 21 and plan to bring my 3
year old son to MB this weekend for his second trip--we've had such a
great time of the years that I'm thrilled to share the experience with
him. I would just like to suggest that for any of you vacationers who
still enjoy traveling (despite the season), there are excellent deals
in MB during off-season. My family and I reside in Wilmington,NC
(approx. 1 hr. 15 min drive to MB) and love driving to MB to spend a
few days in an awesome resort that we would normally pay $130+ per
night for. Although the summer is the ideal time to visit MB, it's nice
to travel there and relax, without the traffic and crowds, and enjoy
the luxuries of great hotels and resorts at half the price. This trip,
we will be staying at the Crown Reef Resort (new to MB) in a King
Jucuzzi Suite, oceanfront, two seperate bedrooms, full kitchen, and a
jucuzzi...all for $89 per night. We can't wait!

Hi, My friend Jeff is staying on Myrtle Beach with his family and
friends for spring break. A group of 4 of us who are Jeff's friends are
coming down on a Greyhound, and we need a place to stay that is legal.
I don't care if I have to sleep on the floor, we just need something on
the cheaper side. I would be willing to camp in a tent, but nothing
looks like id work out. Anyone have any ideas?

If you are going to the Myrtle Beach area I highly recommend calling
the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce 1-800-496-8250 and order the FREE
Stay & Play book. It offers a wide variety of accommodations to choose
from. My family and I have been going to the MB area for 9 years for
our vacation. Having a young child we wouldn't go anywhere else. The
area offers so much for all ages! I will start with accommodations. In
the past we have stayed at The Poindexter (now I think it is called
Atlantica). It was Okay. When we first arrived I was impressed with the
appearance and staff. I was not impressed with our OF room. The view
was spectacular from our balcony but the room itself could have used a
make over. The lock on our door was broken but I can say when we called
to have it fixed maint. was at our room in no time. We have also stayed
at the Regatta (1 row back). Very clean, wonderful staff, great rates
and location, a very "simple" place. The Polynesian was okay. The pools
and hot tubs were nice but crowded (July) of course. The OF room.....
well it had been used many times. Ocean Lodge...clean and the price was
reasonable. The only thing was the "driveway" that went to the only
parking around back. It was sand not paved. We had to avoid big holes
but that has been 3 years ago maybe they have paved it since then.
Davids Landing (1 row back) it was very clean! We really didn't know
what to think because it was so cheap $65. It is located further down
south near Crown Reef. As a family we really liked it because it was
away from the crowd but still Ocean Boulevard. The staff was great and
the location was easy to get to.....no waiting in traffic! If you are
not wanting to spend a fortune on a place to lay your head than I
recommend Davids Landing. Every year we stay somewhere different. Not
because we haven't found a good place all these places I would stay at
again but why only stick with one flavor when you have 100 too choose
from. As far as entertainment...Family Kingdom is great and you do not
have to pay to enter and it offers a variety of rides for all ages of
children & adults. If you want to venture out in the ocean go to
Captain Dicks. We make it priority every year to go on the Marsh
Explorer. Although it doesn't go out into the ocean but in the channel.
You can look it up on the internet and it tells all about it. The
evening sight seeing cruise is nice at the beginning but kind of boring
when you are heading back to the dock. The Sea Screamer and Hurricane
(Little River) are EXTREME entertainment. Be prepared to get wet!! We
enjoyed it and you really go out into the ocean. Carolina Opry is
wonderful, nothing what I thought it would be. I also recommend this
for the whole family. The MB Flea Market is great to walk around in and
look. You can find all the beach nik naks there instead of fighting the
crowds on the grand strand. Alligators Adventure I do not recommend
unless you enjoy looking at sleeping alligators and alligators with
limbs missing. Although we did run into Bobby Labonte (Nascar driver
for those who do not know who he is) and his family...got his autograph
and picture. That was worth the admission. House of Blues is great. Eat
outdoors and enjoy the band!!! Well enough said. I could go on and on
but I must leave you with something to look forward to. Overall MB is
GREAT and we look forward to going every year!!

We travel to Myrtle Beach and stay for at least 3 months during the
winter time. We have stayed at many hotels but have found that The
Palace Resort if by far the best. The resort has a restaurant/lounge,
heated enclosed pools, a attached parking garage, and everything is
enclosed where you do not have to walk out into the weather unless you
want to. We also enjoy eating at Sara J's in Garden City and golfing at
the TPC in Merrills Inlet. Good Luck.. Hope this Helped

Hi, Just returned from a four night stay at Sandcastle Beach South
Resort and thought it was great. It is a great time to go - uncrowded
pool area and uncrowded beach. Nice weather and mostly seniors,
families with young children and couples. Tropical Storm Isidore
threatened to ruin our stay but the rain mostly stayed away! We had
lovely weather in the lower 80's. Sandcastle was clean, the rooms were
nice (not elegant) and the staff were fine. All the rooms have an
oceanfront balcony! The housekeeping staff were prompt every morning -
usually banging on our door between 9 am and 10 am. They have two nice
pools and 3 hot tubs and a lazy river. All were clean - the pools were
a little warm, but I guess it is fall even though the weather is warm.
They had a great internet rate through their website and the price was
great. We would stay there again. We have stayed at other places in MB
that we would not go to again, but Sandcastle was fine. Try burgers at
River City Cafe - very good hamburgers for a reasonable price. Voted
best burgers on the beach.

Sept. 2002 - My wife and I have been staying at the OCEAN PARK Resort
since 1986 and have always had a wonderful vacation experience. We
usually stay in one of the 1-bedroom executive suite end units (#1004)
which has windows in the bedroom and living room looking North down the
beach. Because we stay on the 10th floor, we have a very panoramic view
at night and spectacular sun rises in the mornings! The end units have
their own washer and dryer in the room, 2 full sized beds in the
bedroom, a Murphy pull down bed in the living room as well as the
typical full kitchen. The front desk, maids and maintenance staff have
always been very helpful to insure we have the best stay possible. The
furniture in the units are constantly being upgraded to insure a
pleasant stay. When we last visited, we found a new couch in the living
room, a totally renewed bathroom (toilet, light fixtures & wallpaper)
as well as new ceramic tile on the floors of the bathroom and kitchen.
They just began providing a free continental breakfast, which made
those early morning walks on the beach, that much more enjoyable! The
Resort has a large indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi in addition to 2
outdoor pools and a Jacuzzi. The building is next to Hurl Rock Park and
the Spring Garden restaurant is just a few blocks away on Ocean Blvd. I
recommend anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing stay in Myrtle Beach to
consider OCEAN PARK. Their prices are very reasonable and their
hospitality will keep you coming back year after year! Feel free to
email me with any questions you may have.

anyone has a villa to rent - Please let us know. We have a 6lb dog -

Hello, We are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach in June. We have made
reservations at the Compass Cove(Swampfox) and I would like to know
what is there to do around there. Where can we go to eat. I like
seafood. Also if you don't recommend Compass Cove do you think
Captains' Quarters, Sea Mist, or Blue Water Resort will be better.
Where exactly is Compass Cove located. It says that is on 2311 South
Ocean Blvd. Is that in the South End of the North Myrtle Beach, or is
it in the South Myrtle Beach.

If you stay more toward the center of Myrtle Beach ..be prepared for
more TEENS and more noise at night and more traffic there. We like
staying way down in the last part of the motel strip....south ocean

Places to go after supper at night...Broadway At the Beach....where you
can shop and walk off your dinner.

allows pets (I have a small dog 3 lbs.). Also it needs to accommodate 6
people. I will be traveling at the end of November. Thanks

last year at the Veradas and were blown away, blown away!! Stunning
view right on the beach, stayed end of August at a DELUXE 4 huge 4

I'm hoping to get some suggestions from those of you whom are very
familiar with Myrtle Beach. I've been visiting the Grand Strand since I
was just a tot myself, but now we are taking our 16 month old son for
the first time this May. We haven't been to Myrtle Beach since 1995,
however I am very comfortable finding my way around. Any suggestions on
great places to take kids??? Johnny Mike will be 19 months by the time
we get to MB. Any of your suggestions are welcome. Thanks in Advance!

Me and my fiancé are bringing our families on a vacation this year
at the beach. I really have no idea on how to find the accommodations
that we need. We are planning the trip for the second weeks of June,
2000 and desperately need information on accommodations. We are looking
for a four -five bedroom preferably, close to the beach and boardwalk.
A three bedroom would due though. Any Ideas???? Please help! I have to
look good for my future in-laws.

A group of 12 to 15 of us, all family, are planning a trip to Myrtle
Beach sometime after July 5, 2001 for 5 to 7 days. Looking for a house
large enough to accommodate all, reasonably close to the beach and
entertainment. Also some sort of golf package would be good. Please let
me know what's available and how specific on the dates we need to be.

We're planning a trip in early April 2001, thinking of staying at
the new BayWatch Sands Resort in North Myrtle Beach. Wondered if anyone
knows anything about it or the "sister" Sands Resorts in Myrtle Beach.
Also, wondered how the weather will be in early April - warm enough to
swim outside in a heated pool? Any info would be appreciated.

We're planning our first trip to Myrtle Beach. Has anyone stayed at
the Shorecrest Vacation Villas? We're planning on going in early April.
How is the weather then?

Needing to find out info on a hotel called "tropical winds." last
known location was south ocean blvd. If anyone has the phone number of
where this hotel can be reached we would gladly appreciate it. Also if
we could get the address as well would be helpful. Because I am having
trouble contacting them to make reservations. If you could please
e-mail us as soon as possible. Thank you so very much!!

I am 18 years old and I am interested in taking a trip to Myrtle
Beach in about a week. Although it is a little short of a notice but I
wanted to go for my birthday. I was wondering if anyone can email me on
some nice places to stay who will allow me to rent a room since I am
only 18 years old.

This will be our third time to vacation in Myrtle Beach. The first
time we stopped on our way to Disney World. That was in 1995. We came
back again in 1999. And now we are making plans again for 2001. We are
campers so we haul our travel trailer about 750 miles. Each time we
stay at OCEAN LAKES FAMILY CAMPGROUND. We love it at Ocean Lakes. It is
a big campground - over 300 acres. And they have tons of activities:
Olympic size outdoor pool, indoor pool, miniature golf, basketball
court, sand volleyball, play-grounds, fishing lakes, arcade, beautiful
observation deck and of course, the ocean. The campground is clean, the
restrooms are kept nice, and the staff is friendly. I recommend this
campground with high marks. I can hardly wait until summer. We've been
to the Alabama Theatre - excellent show. The Medieval Times is great.
Dick's Last Resort is a real experience. Basically we stay at the
campground though and relax a lot.

my friends. We aren't allowed to go on our school trip to Cancun so
we decided that we would all take a trip down to myrtle beach to the
week. Which is fine with all of our parents. The only thing is that we
are all 18 in which you have to be 25 to rent any nice place in the
area. If there is anyway to help me please email me. thanks p.s. i
already looked at myrtle beach tours it wasn't all that great so if you
have any other ideas please contact me. thanks again
