My fiancee and I are planning to get married next Memorial Day
weekend (5/27/2002) and we’re looking for information on potential
locations for our wedding/reception as well as photographers, florists,
etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My wife and I just returned to Tucson from a week at Hilton Head. In
spite of a lot of rain, we had a great time. Sure different from the
summers in Arizona. We used a lot information from these travelogues to
know where to eat, and what to see, so here's my contribution: Out
favorite Restaurant was the Cafe at Wexford. Great food, great
atmosphere, and great service. It's in the Village at Wexford, right
off 278. We enjoyed lunch so much we went back for dinner and it was
even better. We also enjoyed Fitzgeralds - better service than most
places, and good food. We also really enjoyed Neno Il Toscano. Our
waiter was having a bad day, but the food and atmosphere more than made
up for him. If you want a realy nice Italian dinner, go to Neno's. Cafe
Europa was highly recommended, but it turned out to be a sandwich
place, and not a very god one. If you're looking for prompt service,
and something more than burgers and sandwiches, skip this one. The only
thing it has going for it is the view of the harbor. If you e near
Coligny plaza, give steamers a try. It's lound, but kind of fun, and
the food isn't too bad, but a little expensive. Giusseppi's for Pizza,
Skillets for breakfast, and Crazy Crab for a good lunch are all safe
bets. And the food at Sante Fe Cafe was not bad at all. I would highly
recommend taking a day trip to Charleston. If you've never been there,
you can take a two hour walk through the historic district, and see a
lot of cool stuff. I'd also recommend doing anything around Kiawah or
Seabrook islands. Wow! If you're a golfer, save your money and skip
Harbour town. It was in lousy shape (again) and it's overpriced for a
narrow forest course. Spend the cash on the Ocean Course at Kiawah - it
was worth every penny. We also played Arthur Hills, which was a lot of
fun. One of the kids there suggested Melrose on Daufuskie Island. Next
time we're going to play there. One last note. Whatever you do, spend
sunset standing knee deep in the Ocean. If the water is as warm as it
was last week, it's the best way to enjoy dusk. The sunsets in Tucson
are pretty spectacular, but we have all beach and no ocean, so it was a
special way to finsih off every day.

We own a townhome in Shipyard and our favorite places to eat are the
following: Love the Steamer in Coligny - best meal is the Voodoo
Skillet AWESOME! We have had wonderful experiences at the Old Oyster
Factory. Great atmosphere too. Tried the Jolly Lobster on Palmetto Bay
Road next to Food Lion. Great food, not so great service. For lunch our
favorite place is the Sea Shack (rated top 25 seafood "dives" in the
Lowcountry - where locals eat) and also Captains Seafood is the old
standby favorite. I won't give away anymore favorites for fear of
longer lines!!

I first came to HHI in 1998 on an extended weekend with my family &
thought the island was pretty nice. I came cback last year with just my
Fiance' and really had a chance to look around, this time for 4 days.
Well, THIS year I've booked a condo for a WEEK for my fiance , Me & my
son and cannot wait to sit on the deck & watch the ocean, Go to
Steamers (At Coliginy Plaza- Best easygoing restaurant on the
island)and much on fresh crab legs, and generally soak in the ambiance
that is Hilton Head Island. As each visit becomes longer, I'll
eventually LIVE there.

I'll be visiting Hilton Head for the first time in July. As an avid
Arizona golfer, I want to golf everywhere! I had hopes of playing on
Kiawah Island. Does anyone know an easy way to get there from Hilton
Head? Looks like the drive is pretty long - is there a way there by
boat? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just returned from a second glorious vacation to Hilton Head in the
last two years. My parents used to own a condo at Shorewood (South
Forest Beach Drive) when I was a child in the '70s. It's been about 21
years since I've visited the island. Last summer was my first time back
in decades and, as an adult, I appreciated it so much more. I returned
this year and am planning a fall/winter vacation simply because going
only once a year seems far too long between visits. Has anyone visited
in the fall/winter? How is the weather? I'm wondering if beach combing
(strolling at the water's edge) and/or swimming is possible at that
time of year or if it's too cold! I think my favorite activity is
parasailing and my favorite restaurant is Alexander’s. They have a
pecan and ginger crusted Mahi Mahi that is to die for! Glad to read so
many others love this island as much as I do. If I had the money, I
would buy a place there. If I were rich enough, I'd live there year
round!

We been vacationing at Hilton Head Island for a number of years.
Recently, we been staying in the Palmetto Dunes Plantation at the
Villamare. This is a condominum high rise resort next to the Hyatt
Hotel. It is on the beach and has a large outdoor pool and a indoor
workout center with small pool and hot tub. We like it because it is a
new complex and it is located in the center of the activities we like:
tennis, golf, biking, walking and dinning. Speaking of dinning
Alexander's restaurant is just a block away. I like to walk to
Alexander's and back. The villamare also has outdoor grills and we cook
our beach boil dinners out there. We visited Hilton Head Island in
September 2000 and we are going back in just a few weeks in May 2001.

My wife and I will be spending only a day in Hilton Head in May of this
year (2001). We're not golfers. We just want to get a taste of the
Hilton Head atmosphere. So, two questions for you. (1) We will have one
dinner in Hilton Head. If you could name ONE place that you would eat
if you only had one more day in your entire life to eat in HHI, what
would it be? And, (2) If you had only one day to see the sights of
Hilton Head, where would you go? Thanks,

My son and I are arriving on May 1st about 3:00 pm at Hilton Head
Airport and would like to play a round of golf and stay the night in a
motel. Then from the 2nd to the 5th we will be staying with a supplier
and playing at a private course. He couldn't make it for the 1st
because he has guest still in his condo. Can you provide me with some
public courses and motel information around the entrance to Hilton Head
please. Thank you

We would to experience Hilton Head this summer for our vacation. If
you could help maybe with some places to stay that are around
$700-850.00 per week. There are 5 of us ranging in age from 47 to 16
yrs.old. My daughter and her boyfriend are golf fanatics. The weeks we
are possibly looking at are either June 11th thru 17th or July 9th thru
15th. We would love ocean front or oceanview. We love the ocean.
