best courses, the Fazio course offers a stimulating challenge
to the accomplished player.
Measuring 6,873 yards from the tips, it has only two par fives
and plays to a par of 70. From the gold tees, the course rating
is 74.2, the highest in the Hilton Head area, and the slope is
132. Even
from the white tees (6,239 yards), the course rating is 71.2 and
the slope is 123. The key words to describe the Fazio course are
"length" and "sand." While the course boasts
just 57 bunkers, some of the fairway traps seem to go on forever.
The terrain is more rolling than on the relatively flat Jones
course, which makes these long par fours play that much harder.
